Orchestra and Balcony - 4 - Carry it Like Audrey
More Pelvic Floor - Orchestra and Balcony - 4 - Carry It Like Audrey
Another “Orchestra and Balcony” moment, this time to lengthen the back, lift the chest, look clearly at the horizon.
Our role model is the epitome of elegance, the beautiful Audrey Hepburn, seen here in the ball gown from her breakout movie, Sabrina. A dancer's poise that highlights clavicles as the 'perfect horizonals' (per Feldenkrais trainer Arlyn Zones) and shoulder blades that ‘drape like saris’ off the back are yours with this lesson.
This is a favorite quadrant breathing refocused onto bring lift to the clavicles and sternum and expanse to the upper back ribs for added support. All the while connecting to the pelvic floor. You can add in the cork for extra soft lips.
No science nerd candy this lesson. We have looked at the ribs during breathing many times. We looked at the movement of the clavicles in previous lessons as well. And I couldn’t really find a good animation of the spine during breathing. So instead, we will embody Audrey, lift our clavicles and feel the elegance.
This lesson can be done sitting, side lying, supine or some combination of all. Have your cork ready.
How You Might Feel After This Lesson: Face, Jaw and Lips soft and relaxed, Pelvic Floor activated and easily sensed, Breath, pelvic floor and lips synchronized; Sexier.
