What is the Feldenkrais Method?

The Feldenkrais Method of somatic education uses movement and real-time body awareness of your own body sensations to guide students toward the positive changes you seek. Students explore odd, low impact movements that stimulate the brain to create new neural pathways that enable optimal movement patterns and function (neuroplasticity).

How & Who Benefits?

Through guided exploration and gentle, low-impact movement, the Feldenkrais Method connects the mind and body to enhance daily life and find new, whole-body ways to circumvent chronic pain. The Feldenkrais Method is proven to help those whose bodies have changed due to age, injury, pregnancy, or illness find ways to reconnect with the things they love in new and fulfilling ways. Musicians, athletes, actors, and visual artists also benefit, finding more freedom and fuller creative expression with each session.

Benefits Include:

  • Identify the movement habits that no longer serve you

  • Learn to use your whole body to take the pressure off stuck or injured areas

  • Learn to move in ways that avoid injury

  • Fine-tune your movements for more elegant, effortless performance

  • Keep in touch with the possibilities for your ever-changing body
