Not Just in My Garden
Monarchs Seem To Be Making A Comeback In California

100,000 spotted in so far in annual count

A spot of good news. According to a report on NPR, Biologists and volunteers across California have already counted more than 100,000 monarchs compared to 2000 last year. The LA count began Thanksgiving and continues to December 5. While butterfly populations have dropped by 99% in recent years, this year gives a moment of hope.

I will keep growing milkweed and hope the garden looks appealing to monarch females. Note: males have a dot on their bottom wings. I had a mostly females, and at lease one male.
