Seth Godin on "Ease Isn’t Easy"
Have I mentioned that Seth’s mom Lenore and my mom were best friends in Williamsville, NY, where Seth and I grew up? Or that Lenore wrote me the letter of recommendation that I believe got me into Smith College? And that Seth and I learned to canoe at the same Canadian summer camp - where all the Williamsville kids went to give their parents a summer break? All true
So when Seth says something brilliant - typically related to marketing and cultural change - that resonates with the Feldenkrais Method philosophies, I share. He has a built an international community of “people like us” who are open to, inspired to, change the world. Count me in . And Moshe before all of us.
In his October 18, 2024 blog post, Seth addresses “Ease”:
Ease a the fundamental concept underlying the Feldenkrais Method - the search for the blocks, unnecessary tensions, or missing links that disrupt the free flow of energy through the body in movement. When we return to or achieve ease, our movements - our whole selves - flow with minimal effort, optimal grace. As Seth notes, ease is the combination of intent, self-awareness and practice.
It isn’t easy to achieve ease, but continued attention, especially when we have no idea where we are going to find ease, is a worthy pursuit.
