SEASONAL CHECK-IN

What’s Changed, What’s the Same and What Do You Want to Improve

(A variation of AY 60)

The Feldenkrais Method® is all about taking note of changes. This lesson is a full body survey of all the moving parts; neck, arms in the shoulder sockets, legs in the hip sockets. shoulder blades, left and right side of pelvis, and finally the entire spine.

For continuing students, it is an opportunity to compare how you are moving with how you were moving. For new students, it is a challenging, but revealing survey of the major joints of your body, and how well you use them, or even sense them.

This lesson begins on the back and has an optional segment on the belly. If that isn’t available to you, no problem. The lesson is very adjustable.

Track changes, pay attention to what is the same, and make notes of what you want to concentrate on moving forward.

No Science Nerd candy this week. This is all about feeling. We will explore all the healing sounds as we take this full body tour:

  • Kidney: Chooooo - driving cold and fear out

  • Liver: Shhhhhhh - releasing anger and excess steamy, swampy heat

  • Lung: Sssssss - releasing cold, dry air and grief

  • Heart: Haaaaaa - releasing hate and impatience

  • Stomach: Hawwwwww = releasing anxiety

  • Triple Warmer: releasing excess heat around the heart

How You Might Feel After This Lesson: Completely loosened up,; Tuned into your smoothest movement in every major joint ; Connected from tip to toe; Aware of improved movements compared to the last time we did this; Attuned to areas you’d like to bring into more clarity or focus on; Ready for the next series.
