Gestures of Love - 3 - "Beginning from Ground"

Find Your Footing To Stand Firm,  Move From Center

“If all I have to do this year is love, I’m good” - Christine

Embody love as we wait to be reunited with our beloveds. This Awareness Through Movement® series progresses from Self Hugs to Sealed with a Kiss. Be ready for that wonderful moment when we can show our love up close and joyously.

This Week: "Beginning from Ground"

From self-hugging to centerline to ground.  Hold your space, hold your place, hold your center. Feel safe from the feet up.

This may feel like a familiar lesson.  We begin with simple hip lifts from the feet.  We will briefly reprise last week's spine/centering explorations.  And add on subtle foot movements to find what part of the foot makes the best connections to hip and head.  Hint:  the front of the heel, where the front edge of your cowgirl boot heel hits your foot, is the star of this show.

This is a lie on your back lesson. Have any padding you might want for your low back or head, and a blankie and heavy socks if you tend to get cold.  Optional:   You might want to have a small, skinny stick such as a chop stick, pencil, or pen as a teaching tool.

How you might feel after this lesson: Clarified Center Line; Connected from Head to Toe; Feet open and relaxed; Balanced from foot to foot; Balanced hip to hip; Connections from hip to opposite shoulders; Finding the front of the heel for more stable walking; Grounded and stable in standing.
