On Composition, Creativity and the Water Tree Way - a Podcast Featuring Ruth Mendelson

On Composition, Creativity and the Water Tree Way

An Intelligent and Wide Ranging Interview with Composer, Producer, Teacher and Humanitarian Ruth Mendelson

“The Water Tree Way” by Ruth Mendelson

May I recommend the Media Path podcast and YouTube video featuring my bass teacher and inspiration Ruth Mendelson?

Fritz Coleman, a legendary Los Angeles weatherman/humorist and Louise Palanker, a filmmaker/columnist and co-founder of Premiere Radio, are entertainment industry mavens. They pose insightful, challenging questions about film score composition, the creative process, heeding the creative call, and teaching young composers. Ruth sparkles as she talks about film scoring - a service job, not for the ego - and how she opens to inspiration.

Ruth and Louise talk about Ruth’s 30-years-the-making story “The Water Tree Way.” Louise reads off a list of life lessons she recognized through heroine Jai’s adventures, successes and failures. The conversation also led to Ruth’s Grammy Listed spoken word project Well Wishes and Blessings, a gift of love and peace from American to Iraqi children during the 2006 Iraq war.  Even “Amazing Jellies,” Ruth’s hypnotic and healing soundtrack to the New England Aquarium’s 2016 jellyfish extravaganza, gets a mention.

Get into the mind of a creative spirit and check out this interview. If you are inclined to ‘like’ it or comment, thanks. Gotta spread the word.
