Join Awareness Through Movement: Adaptive SportsNut Edition, a free, online class series for Adaptive athlete volunteers and participants. Lessons will focus on Adaptive Sports’ skill development and injury prevention for kayaking, hiking, golf, climbing, tennis and yoga. Offered in partnership with Adaptive Sports Partners of the North Country and Sat Nam Foundation.
Schedule:
April 9: Sitting on A Clock – The original “pelvic clock” lesson some chiropractors teach. A foundational lesson for just about any sport; students use the image of a clock to practice shifting with in the hips. For Yoga students, this informs seated and standing twists. Therapeutic for stiff low back, hips and shoulders.
April 16: Blue Ribbon Diagonals – Take deep dive into hip and shoulder connections. New approaches to paddle a boat or swing a bat/racquet/club. For yoga students, helpful for forward and back bends, seated and standing twists. Therapeutic for low-mid back and shoulders pain.
April 23: Long Arms with a Twist - Learn to consciously align feet, hips, shoulders and head. This is a fundamental lesson for your golf swing or kayak stroke. For yoga students - supine and standing twists and balances. Therapeutic for neck and shoulders, low back and hips, alignment of arms and legs.
April 30: Go Where You’re Looking – Did you realize that your eyes coordinate all movement body-wide? For any activity that involves watching the ball or moving where you want to go. For yoga students, this informs deep twists, backbends, balances. Therapeutic for neck, shoulder and head aches.
