Shoulder Blade Power for All Things Throwing

In our first lesson back from a very brief "Mud Season" break, we started getting into the overall movements of tossing a 'disc,' rolling a bocce ball, reaching for a tomato, and generally loosening up the back.

This lesson was all about feeling the shoulders at rest and in motion, to better understand how the back and shoulder blades power the throw. Also, how using the shoulders together - really focusing on that - can help direct that frisbee or bocce ball or golf ball where you want it to go.

In this lesson, one hand reaches across the chest and under the arm to 'grab' the opposite shoulder blade. Some athletes might want to set up next to a wall so they can press their shoulder blade against the wall to fell the movement instead of trying to reach around with the opposite hand.

Tim demonstrated a golf swing with his shoulders very square. Mary and Natasha were all loosened up and ready to play with balls. Jakob was thinking disc toss.
